The Linda McCartney Pro Cycling Team have chosen the Principia Rex as their selected weapon for the 2000 season. The superlight and responsive aluminium frames have been specially built and prepared for the team in their own yellow colours.

"They're really beautiful," said McCartney's head mechanic Craig Geater. "Seamus Grannell of Principia invited me to spend a week working with them at their HQ in Denmark, and the amount of care and attention they took over the frames was amazing."
The new yellow frames are being built into full bikes at the Linda McCartney base near Toulouse before leaving for their first engagement, the Jacob's Creek Tour DownUnder in Adelaide, starting on January the 18th. New signings Tayeb Braikia and Bjørnar Vestøl are happy to be reaquainted with Principia, after giving the bikes their seal approval when they were with Acceptcard in 1999.
The frames will be supplemented by ITM's excellent Millenium range of handlebars, stems and seatpins and a full Shimano Dura-Ace groupset.
"We're really pleased that Linda McCartney are using our equipment this season. It's good to see a British team taking it's place at the big races," said Sandra Sartori of ITM.
The ensemble will feature Mavic's outstanding Ksyrium, Classics Pro and Cosmic wheels, shod with nippy Vredestein tyres." Mavic come out on top, because they've got a specialist wheel for every type of race," explained team manager Sean Yates. Pedal giants Look are developing a special edition Linda McCartney pedal for the team to use.
Max Sciandri has personally tested the Fizik Pavé saddle and declared it ideal for the demands of a long season. American lubrication experts Finish Line have supplied a personalized package for the team to use.
